1968 Seiko 6106-8100 70m Sport Diver

1968 Seiko 6106-8100 70m Sport Diver

$0.00

Seiko's first sport divers are a classic representation of the tool watch. Understated and minimalist with a militaristic finish. To the hard core collector, they are sought after relics of Seiko history to be appreciated for their simplicity and rarity. Only produced for a few years, acquiring your own can prove quite the challenge. This example from March of '68 would have been among the very first to roll off the production line. It's dial and case back carry the "proof" designation used prior to 1970, and considering its age, it's in incredible condition. The case is a contoured tonneau that's unpolished with sharp corners and its factory finishes still mostly visible. It's fitted with a rotating outer bezel and a matte silver insert marked out in a count up style in black. Though it shows some light wear, there is no fading to note. Beneath it is the charcoal gray dial in a sunburst pattern and lacquer finish. The markers are applied and the luminous material has a nice and even khaki patina. The 6106B features hacking seconds and a quick set function for the date. The day can be semi-quick set. If a stripped down vintage tool watch is on your list, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value than Seiko's early variants. We've paired this one with an OD green NATO for a period finish that's sure to turn heads.
