The King Seikos of the 1960's and 70's are the definition of timeless classic timepieces. Each is a perfect understatement of sophistication, and this example from June of 1970 is no exception. The dial is a smoky blue/black that has the appearance of being soft to the touch. Adorning it are large applied Roman numerals perfectly balanced due to the absence of a date aperture. The hands add quite a bit of character as each are a different style, but are very much complementary. The case is a one piece style in which the movement can only be removed by first removing the crystal. This design inspired a brilliant feature on Seiko's part where in a large screw head can be seen between the lower lugs. Removing this screw allows the passage of a small screwdriver to meet the slotted head of a geared regulator post, allowing minor adjustments in regulation. On the case back, the "KS" golden medallion is completely intact and shows almost no wear. The 5621 on the other side of it is freshly serviced and sends the second hand sweeping around the dial at 28,800 bph.  To contrast the dial, we've paired it with a distressed brown leather strap with reverse stitching, and once on the wrist, it's doubtful you'll want to take it off again.
