1970 Seiko 6139-6010 Automatic Chronograph (Proof)

$0.00

At the crossroads of vintage and versatile sits Seiko's 6139-6010. This example from June of ‘70 is as timeless in design now, as it was making history as one of the worlds first automatic chronographs. The matte black dial is trimmed in a blocked silver minute track and sports the "70 Proof" demarcation of those first on the market. The hour and minute hands are polished batons that are easily legible at a glance, and the bright red chronograph hands add a nice touch of color. The angular chapter is a glossy black, and with its silver tachymetric scale, adds the right amount of sport to an otherwise casual layout. The case is textbook Seiko with great contours, a wide flat bezel, and the original circular brush finish still intact. The 6139A driving the hands is serviced and keeping near perfect time, and the chronograph functions are crisp and responsive. Attached to the original triple hinged bracelet, this one is completely original aside from a replacement crystal and checks all the boxes for even the most particular collector.
