If you’re in the market for an affordable vintage casual that’s sure to turn a few heads, this 7005 from March of ‘73 more than fits the bill. The dial is a perfect silver sunburst with a glossy lacquer finish, paired with printed black hour markers and subtle lume plots. The 12,6, and 9 markers are split, and striped in yellow for a touch of color that adds a ton of character. The slim polished batons counting the hours and minutes are also striped, and bear their original luminous material. The date aperture is at the three o’clock position, and can be quickset via the crown. The cushion shaped case is unpolished, and sans bezel, it has a thinner, easy to wear profile. The 7005 self-winding movement is keeping near perfect time post service with an impressive reserve. It’s completely original aside from a NOS Seiko crystal, and we’ve paired it with a premium blue NATO for a casual and comfortable fit. Whether it’s your first foray into vintage, or you’re looking for your next great addition, this Seiko classic is a no brainer.
