Understated. Minimalist. Austere.... Seiko's Lord Marvel is a testimony to simplicity and elegance. Crisp lines and beautifully beveled and tapered lugs give the case a classically designed platform from which to showcase a combination of dial and movement that refuses to go unnoticed. This minty example from July of 1976 is amazing. The dial is a crisp silver sunburst with a glossy lacquer finish set with polished beveled markers with black inlay striping. Above the "Suwa" symbol  is the cleanly printed "Lord Marvel" branding followed by the 36000 distinction. The sword hands are polished, striped, and taper to a fine point. As indicated it houses Seiko's 5740C, a high beat "marvel" of a movement. It is manually wound by the oversized crown and hums along at 36000 bph making the slender and reaching second hand appear to glide along the minute track. This piece is pure class on the wrist and is bound to catch more than a few second looks. On dark brown distressed leather with reverse stitching, it is nicely finished and a perfect addition to any collection.
