Ca. 1964 Seiko 6217-7000 World Time “Canadian Club Society”

As the world brought their greatest athletes to Tokyo for the 1964 Olympic Games, Seiko brought the world to wrist of the watch wearing public. The World Time was the perfect way to commemorate the games. Canadian Club Whisky thought enough of these great timepieces that they chose present their elite with a model their very own. In lieu of an Olympic torch, the case backs were engraved with the emblem of the “Canadian Club Society” and each recipients initials were engraved at center. With very few “CCS” examples available to begin with, adding one to your collection is highly unlikely. However, we managed to track one down and it is an absolute stunner. The silvery white linen dial is bordered by split, bi-color 24 hour track and framed by a matte silver rotating "cities of the world" bezel with a sleek red trim. The case architecture is classically shaped and serves as merely a frame for the dial aside from neatly proportioned lugs. The case back engraving, even after a half century, is still quite crisp with all the original markings visible. Unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement crystal, it is truly an outstanding example, and a perfect opportunity to add a rare piece of Seiko and Canadian Club history to any collection.
