From its inception, Grand Seiko has served as the platform from which Seiko would offer it’s finest timepieces. Beginning with the 3180, the goal was to create a luxury watch that was undeniable. A watch that displayed the finest craftsmanship, style, and mechanical precision that Seiko was capable of. With benchmarks like Taro Tanaka’s “Grammar of Design,” and the GS Standard, which insured the highest level of precision and reliability (beyond even the international chronometer standards of the day), Grand Seiko was, and continues to be, among the finest watches available anywhere in the world.

Produced in September of 1967, this 57GS is incredible. From the contours of the case and its perfectly proportioned lines, to the flawless silver sunburst dial, is is a masterpiece. It is unmolested and completely original aside from a replacement crystal, and has to be seen to be truly appreciated. All case back markings are crisp and legible, and the GS medallion is free from any wear through or corrosion. The crown is the original and correct W over Seiko style, and it smoothly winds the beautiful 35j 5722B movement housed inside. Serviced just four days prior to this listing, it is keeping excellent time and will surely be a favorite in any collection.
